The purchase of a cottage in 2015 provided a great opportunity for construction projects. The first obvious project
had to be the reconstruction of a deck that cantilevered over the water on piers that were in disrepair. The first
step was to repair the piers using sonatubes and mixed concrete. Footings down to bedrock were constructed out of
mixed concrete on which posts were set to support the deck. The deck is 16 feet square with a railing.
After the first deck was finished the second obvious project was a companion deck to level off the land above the
first deck with stairs leading down to it.
When the second deck was more or less finished a smaller deck was built to provide better access to the dock which
had just had its boards replaced.
All of the above decks were finished in the summer of 2016. Below is a series of pictures of the decks at various
stages of their construction.
